Watermelon Pattern with Thread Path, Decreasing Brick Stitch

With more patterns being listed in my shop and more inquiries for patterns with instructions, I decided to list my first pattern that includes the thread path for the project. A thread path is simply an illustration of the beadwork that shows the direction of the thread.

I wanted to start with a simple project - an easy one for me to illustrate and one that would be fun and rewarding for a beginner. I chose this brick stitch watermelon. The entire watermelon (except for the base row and loop) can be stitched with the decreasing brick stitch.

Creating the instructions took a more time than I anticipated so I am not sure when I will tackle the next pattern with a path. For more information about the Watermelon pattern, you can view it here...

Witch Hat - Brick Stitch Beading

What kind of witch would wear this hat? Would it be a ill-tempered hag that would love to put you into her giant kettle? Would it be a young, bouyant witch who rarely wears her hat because she usually forgets it on the sofa where she accidentally sits on it? Or could it possibly be a motherly type who takes care of everyone and rarely has time to run a brush through her hair, much less straighten the bend in her hat?

While you think about your answer, you can view it here ➤  Witch Hat, Brick Stitch Beading

Guitar Charm/Pendant - Brick Stitch Bead Weaving

Hooray! It's Friday! My children are very relieved and so am I. It was the first week back to school...a new school for my younger child, who is very shy by nature, so it has been a tough one. We are all extremely grateful for weekends!

Our weekends usually involve some kind of music - radio in the background, piano classes and, sometimes, guitar strings being plucked.

To celebrate the first school-weekend-break, here is a guitar to remind me of the simple things that make our family happy.

Hope you have a great week. Enjoy your weekend!

Maltese Dog, Peyote Stitch Bead Pattern

When I received the suggestion for a Maltese Dog pattern, I knew it would not be easy but I was up to the challenge. This toy dog, with its long, silky hair, absolutely needed to be a part of my bead collection!

It took me 11 revisions that I beaded 5 times (the rejects are sitting forlornly next to me) and late nights under my trusty OttLite lamp. I settled on two finalist and this is the one that won out.

I used Delica seed beads, size 11. The finishes piece measures 2.25 cm. wide x 2.5 height. It takes 193 beads in 7 colors.

More information is found here  Maltese Seed Bead Pattern

I really hope you like this design!

Farm Keychains - Brick Stich Cow and Tractor

Do remember these designs from my earlier beading adventures? Once upon a time I had a cow thing going because cows are so sweet and gentle that even flies are not afraid of them. Well, I think flies are not afraid of much except being squashed so maybe cows are just a wee daft?

This cow has been sitting around, happily chewing cud. I finally got around to placing it on a keyring and adding it to my shop.

This tractor is also a 2014 creation. It's been altered a tiny bit but not drastically. I added it to a keyring as well.

Although I have the tractor pattern saved and ready, it will be going up later. It took me all day to take decent pictures of these keyrings and write listing descriptions. I really need to figure out how to do these things more efficiently! Maybe I'm a wee daft too? If you have any photo & description tips for me, please share :)

Find these items on Etsy.

Thanks for stopping by!
