Seed Bead Candy Conversation Heart - "MEH"

This is the largest size seed bead charm that I have made to date. It is a giant sized candy conversation heart that measures approximately 2.25 inches wide by 2.5 inches in height. The finished piece includes 1128 tiny, size 11, Miyuki Delica seed beads in three colors: arctic blue, moody blue and bright rose.

This was a special request with specifically requested colors. I was unable to find the colors locally so I purchased the beads online at ebeads.com. It was the first time I shopped at ebeads but I'm glad I did because the service was great, the beads arrived lickety split, and I even received a free pen!

I stitched the heart with a "modified" brick stitch that allowed for multiple passes through each seed bead using thinner, 4 lb. Fireline thread. The finished piece is still durable while remaining flexible and the seed beads sit nicely together like best friends (or like a teacher saying, "stand in a straight line!").

This beaded heart is headed all the way to the cold, blustery East Coast. I hope it brings some warm Hawai'i sunshine to the recipient.

I am halfway through with my largest order of charms, 50 black panthers, so I don't think I'll be posting any new designs before Valentine's Day. (Hmmm....seems like "largest" is my word for 2015!).

Sending ♥ your way.
