I Love Your Smile!

It's the day after Thanksgiving and my roly-poly belly is filled with all the wonderful blessings of tasty foods. I hope you all had a happy celebration!

Now is the time to avoid my usual day-before-Christmas-gift-list-panic. I will start my holiday shopping / crafting early. Oh yes I will! I am gathering up my thoughts and making my list.

*When I see Jamie's {ChatterBlossom} hair accessories, I think of my sister-in-law with her long, pretty hair. Perhaps she'd like a fascinator for her beautiful locks?

*Shirl {Creations By Shirl} and Eva {crafting this and that} encourage me to send that sweet sentiment out to my loved ones. This year the holiday cards will go out!

*Joy {Joy of Crafting} is full of crafty inspiration. Her ideas include favors that I can make for an entire classroom of kids or for one very special person.

*When I visit Mohala's {MoKeKuMiLei Creations} blog, I think of my family and friends who have moved away from our Hawai'i home. Sometimes Mo's paintings and photos remind me of places I have been to and long ago friends - so sweet, nostalgic and sometimes sad. This season, I will remember those far away from home.

If you see me less here, that means I am checking off my list. But wait, let me show-off my latest... The earrings shown are made with a color palette inspired by holiday hues at Design-Seeds.com.

Thanks for stopping by!

Easy Pink Bow Bead Pattern

I'm tickled rosey pink to share this simple bow / ribbon pattern with you. It's a very easy bead weaving design. You can make this bow using your choice of colors and bead it up with the vertical brick stitch or peyote stitch.

These are the supplies I used to make my bows.

* Delica 11/o beads in Opaque Chalk White (DB-200) and Crystal Rose Ceylon (DB-236)
* Size 12 beading needle
* 4 lb. Fireline

The loop at the top of the bow is made with Toho 15/o crystal beads and 4 mm bicone beads in transparent pink. I slipped my bows on to loopy kidney ear wires.  I used Bead Tool 4 to help me make my pattern.

Have fun making your own cute bead woven bows or visit my Etsy shop to see the listing for the one I made.

Super-Duper Excited!

Definition of SUPER-DUPER
: of the greatest excellence, size, effectiveness, or impressiveness

I am feeling excited to the most super-duper proportion because my little bitty pumpkin pattern is in the Craftsy Newsletter! It's wonderful validation that I am doing something that is not just poo, pah, pfffft! (definition: worthless junk).

See? My pumpkin pattern is sandwiched between ZaneyMay who makes the most beautiful bead patterns and jewelry. What an honor!

To read the entire newsletter and see what else Craftsy has to offer, go here...yes, go now!

I Love Your Smile!

Having fun making beaded hair bands.
Whenever Friday rolls around, I am just so astonished at how fast the days are whizzing by! I wish I had more time to do everything I want and need to do. It would be very nice to have more energy too.

I squeezed in some fun time to make the butterfly rubber band that my little one said she "would wear".  I hope to see it in her hair soon! I also made a matching caterpillar (it looks a bit like a inch worm).

I hope everyone had a great week. I want to remember the end of another week by saying thanks, again, for your comments and support. I got the most blog comments from "Anonymous" who left me all sort of strange ads. Anonymous, sorry but I'm not including you on my "I Love Your Smile" list =(

These are my friends who make me smile.  Please visit their wonderful, creative blogs!

  • If you're visiting from any of my Etsy Teams, please leave me a comment and I'll stop by your blog as well.

Have a great weekend before it passes you by.

    Bountiful Flowers

I made a floral rubber band for my daughter using whatever beads I could find.  A great relaxing project with a sense of purpose.

She said: Why do you ALWAYS make me FLOWERS?! If you made me butterflies, I would wear your rubber bands!

Oh yeah?  I'd make anything to keep your unruly hair a bit neater.  Butterflies here I come!

    Doxie Plays Soccer

A short post just to show you what I have just completed. These are "mini" versions of beaded volleyballs and dachshunds.  The width of these are about 2 cm.  It's a special request for a customer who will be making these into earrings.

I'd like to make new designs specifically for the too cool teenage group. I'm waaaayyyy past my teenage years so I need help. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear from you.

    I Love Your Smile!

You make me big time happy and I Love Your Smile!

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my blog posts. You are so supportive and kind!

Toothy grin to Jeanna at Stitched Tegan Jewelry. Take a look at this beautiful handcrafted bracelet made with pink pearls, Swarovsky beads and a pretty heart and arrow clasp.  Jeanna held a giveaway in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month and I won (with the help of Jamie at ChatterBlossoms - read this post). Thank you Jeanna and Jamie!

I also must mention this amazing Christmas Beading Treasury curated by Anna on Etsy. Anna noticed my Santas and included in her collection =) Anna designs and creates her own beaded pieces - each one is extraordinary.  Please visit Anabel27shop to see what I'm talking about.

    The Evil Eye

...or is it a protective eye?

I made these as "good eyes".  The healing eyes, the all-seeing eyes that you can wear on your ears to check out what is on the side of you without turning your head too much. Shake your head a bit and you might be able to see what's behind you. Jump up and down and you may be able to see what is above and below you too.  The eyes weep pink flower tears as well!

Inspired by Betsey Johnson.  She's fun, she's quirky, she's colorful, she's talented, she's fashionable, she's successful...so why not?

    Happy Day to you!

Anime Beaded Kitty Pattern and Other Stuff

I've decided to post my bead woven patterns on Craftsy. I like it because customers can immediately download the pattern upon purchase and not wait for me to send them a link. As a customer, I'd like quick access to the things I buy.

I have only 3 patterns listed right now and it's available for those who like to DIY.  The newest one is the Small Anime Tabby Cat.

I made this smaller version of the kitty as a custom order.  I also worked on these pieces.

Santa is a Jennifer Creasey design.  Mrs. Claus is a design I made to go along with the mister.

These are burgundy and gold charms for a Washington Redskins fan.

My computer is doing a boogie-woogie dance on me now.  Hmm...wonder what I did?  Well, I gotta get back to beading now.  Have a great day everyone. I'd love to hear what you have been up to.

    What Happened to October?

It's amazing how fast the year is passing by. October has been one of the most busiest months for me and so many things have been neglected and put aside. Unfortunately, bad bad mom, one of the things that I didn't get to do with my children, was our traditional pumpkin carving.

Our pumpkins are still sitting on the bench outside the front door. Uncarved. And, all that cutesy crafts I wanted to make for our friends were never done. We did, however, manage to decorate ipus (gourds) at the Living Art Marine Center. Actually, mine is the naked one in the back but I think it's pretty like that.

We thought we were going to miss Halloween completely because of a traffic incident that caused major roadway delays. We were on the other side of town - stuck! We ended up meeting up with friends at a nearby shopping center for mall trick-or-treating. What about the treats that we were planning to give out? Well, we have 6 lbs. of candy sitting on the counter so we're looking for an organization that will accept our candy. Do you know of any? Gotta get rid of them quick because I might eat 'em up!

Hope you all had a wonderful October.
