I'm not the athlete I wish I could be but I'm lucky to have basketball, soccer and volleyball players in my family that gives me the perfect amount of sporty pleasure in my life.  For the athlete, I created a couple of sports charms...

I Heart Basketball

I Heart Soccer
I hope to make more of these.  Sport charms are on sale at Handmade + Cute, Etsy.

Dolphin Charm

Hello Friends,

I hope you enjoyed your Easter holiday!  How did you celebrate?  Although our kids are getting big, we still color eggs and hold an egg hunt.  The best part for me is the egg salad sandwiches that we feast on afterwards.  Our dog, Daisy, had fun as well.  This was her first Easter with us.

I also had a chance to work with my beads.  I finished up this dolphin that I just added to my shop.  It's a relatively small piece, with about 140 beads.

Lately I've been surrounded by dolphins (the mascot for my kids' school).  My intent is to make a bunch of these to give away as end of the school year gifts...wish me luck.

More Duct Taping

Actually, the tape I'm using is the Duck Tape brand and I'm sad to say that I think this will be another addiction.  I'm sad because...when am I going to start doing the laundry?!  I spent last night looking at the different Duck Tape colors and designs.  I'm salivating over the delicious patterns available.

All these sewing projects I wanted to do but never did because I hate taking out my sewing machine and I often spend too much time crawling around the floor looking for dropped pins.  Well, I now have dreams of creating my sewing projects with tape.

Again with my polka dotted tape and aqua tape, the only two colors I have, I made a zippered pencil pouch.  Here it is...

I am so particular about the pattern matching up that I'm thinking, next time, I'll use my husband's silver tape as the base and then cover it up with the patterned tape so I can match up all the dots and hide the "seams".  Maybe soon I will graduate from pencil cases and move on to more detailed work.

Any tips for me?  I'd sure appreciate it.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Duct Tape Pencil Case

After an adventurous stay on the Big Island of Hawaii, I am now Home Sweet Home!  Sleeping in my own bed and taking a long shower is such a luxury!  Our group traveled from hot Kona to chilly Volcanoes National Park to visit some beautiful and amazing sites.  When I got home and sat down to craft, the first thing I wanted to work on was a duct tape project, not beading.

I was inspired by Sophie's World's Duct Tape Purse and went out to find pretty tape to make a pencil case.  I found a colorful dotted design at Walmart and coordinated it with the turquoise tape that I already had.  The most difficult part was making the duct tape "fabric" with the dotted design because I wanted the dots to match up.  As you can see, I was careful with the outside but not with the inside.

This project was so much fun!   I'm loving this duct tape thing!!
